Message Review

Jesus came to seek and save the lost and will relentlessly pursue just one lost sheep. Relevant Community Church is an outward facing church, and we are relentless about reaching people for Jesus. It’s the church’s vision every member Reach One person who doesn’t know Jesus Christ. God’s heart for lost people is that they are found, so we must be relentless about finding them.

Main Point: God’s heart for lost people is that they are found, so we must be relentless about finding them.

Scripture References: Luke 15:1-7

Discussion Questions

  • What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon, and why?

  • What do we celebrate on Christmas?

  • Why did Father God send Jesus, and who did Jesus come for?

  • Think about the most terrible, disgusting, deplorable person you can:

    • What’s your heart and posture towards them?

    • What do you think is God’s heart and posture towards them? What does He want to happen to them?

  • Read Luke 15:1-7:

    • What sticks out to you in vs 1-2, and why?

    • What main point(s) was Jesus communicating in the parable (vs 3-6)?

    • In vs 7, what do you notice and what was Jesus’ big idea?

  • Read Luke 19:10:

    • What is Jesus saying?

    • Who are “the lost” people Jesus is referring to?

  • Considering Luke 15:1-7 and verse 19:10, answer these questions again:

    • Why did Father God send Jesus, and who did Jesus come for?

    • What is God’s heart and posture towards “one lost sheep”? What does He want to happen to them?

  • How do you know if someone who claims to be a follower of Jesus truly has the same heart for lost people as God does?

  • What can cause our hearts toward lost people to be unaligned with God’s heart?

  • Ronnie said God’s heart for lost people is that they’re found, so we must be relentless in finding them. What does it practically look like for us to “seek and save” those who are lost?

  • Do you have the same heart for lost people that God does? If not, how do you think that might be impacting your relationship with Jesus?

  • Who is your Reach ONE?  If you haven’t identified a Reach ONE, who is someone in your life you can intentionally reach for Jesus who doesn’t have a relationship with Him?

  • As group, pray for each Reach ONE.
