In Week 5 of our “More Words of Wisdom” series, we discovered pivotal circumstances are a normal part of life, but they also create an opportunity. In every pivotal circumstance, we have a choice: we can pivot toward God or away from Him. In every pivotal circumstance, God wants to take you deeper with Him and change you for what’s next.

  • What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon, and why?

  • What is a pivotal circumstance?

  • Think of a pivotal circumstance you have experienced.

    • What was the pivotal circumstance?

    • Did you pivot toward God or away from God, and what did that look like?

    • How did that impact your faith in God, relationship with God, and experience of God?

  • Read Philippians 3:1-14:

    • What words or phrases stand out to you in this passage, and why?

    • What does it mean and look like to “put no confidence in the flesh” (vs 3)?
