Sunday was the final week of the 5-part series entitled “Miracles?”. Throughout this series we’re answering 7 questions about miracles. This week we answered the 7th question, “Are there any miracles God wants for me?” We discovered the miracles God wants you to experience are salvation and transformation.

Discussion Questions:

  • What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon, and why?

  • “God hasn’t promised us any of the miracles we pray for.” Does this statement create any tension in you? If so, why?

  • If miracles are at God’s discretion, are there any miracles God has promised He wants for us?

Ronnie said there are 2 Miracles God has promised and wants us to experience:

1st Miracle: Salvation

  • What is the miracle of salvation? 

  • Read Ephesians 2:1-10:

    • What words or phrases stand out to you in this passage?

    • What main point(s) is Paul communicating in this passage?

    • Is there anything in this passage that’s hard for you to accept? If so, what and why?

    • Read verses 1-3 again. What is sin? What’s the impact and consequence of sin?

    • Why is salvation a miracle?

    • Why does God want the miracle of salvation for us (vs. 4)?

    • How do we experience the miracle of salvation (vs. 8-9)?

  • Read 2 Corinthians 5:17:

    • What does Paul say happens the moment we put our faith in Jesus and experience the miracle of salvation? 

    • What does it mean to be a “new creation” and how are we a “new creation”?

  • Ronnie said, “Salvation is the greatest miracle we can experience.” Do you agree? Why or why not?

2nd Miracle: Transformation

  • What is the miracle of transformation?

  • Read 2 Corinthians 3:18:

    • What main point(s) is Paul communicating in this passage?

    • What does God want to transform us into?

    • Why is transformation a miracle?

  • Why does God want us to experience the miracle of transformation?

  • How do we experience the miracle of transformation in our lives?

  • What prevents us from experiencing the miracle of transformation?

  • In what ways have you experienced the miracle of transformation in your life?

  • If Jesus never did one more thing for you, are the miracles of salvation and transformation enough for you? Why or why not?

    • How might your answer to this question be impacting your relationship with God and your experience of God?

  • Have you experienced the miracle of salvation? If not, what’s stopping you from putting your faith in Jesus by asking Him to be the Forgiver of your sin and Leader of your life?

  • How is Jesus inviting you to follow Him today so you can continue experiencing the miracle of transformation?
