Throughout our 9-week “FruitFULL” series, we’re examining the nine fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-24). This week we focused on Faithfulness and discovered being counted on to show up every time, for the people and in the places God has given us, is proof we’re actively following Jesus.

  • What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon, and why?

  • When you think of the word “faithfulness”, what comes to mind for you?

  • In Galatians 5:22, the seventh fruit of the Spirit is faithfulness (pistis). 

    • What is the Biblical definition of faithfulness (pistis)?

    • What does faithfulness practically look like in our day-to-day lives?

  • Read what Jesus said in His final prayer for His disciples and His future church (us) in John 17:6, 12, 24:

    • What words and phrases stick out to you in these 3 verses from Jesus’ prayer?

    • How was Jesus faithful to “those God had given Him”?

  • Who has God given you?

  • Like Jesus, are you someone who can be counted on to show up every time for the people and in the places God has given you? Why or why not?

  • Read Matthew 25:14-30:

    • What words and phrases stick out to you in this parable from Jesus?

    • What main point(s) was Jesus communicating in this parable?

    • What does this parable teach us about faithfulness and why God wants to produce the fruit of faithfulness in us?

    • What are consequences to not faithfully stewarding what God has given us?

  • Is the fruit of faithfulness being produced in you? What’s the evidence?

  • How are you currently choosing faithfulness in your life? In what areas are you struggling?

  • What fruit are you bringing to those people and places when you show up?
