Lead Your Group
Practical Group Leadership Skills
Find practical help for preparing your gatherings, guiding meaningful discussion, and making room for everyone to participate. These resources will help you lead conversations that deepen relationships, point people toward Jesus, and encourage everyday steps of faith.
Leading a Meaningful Discussion
A meaningful discussion gives people room to explore Scripture, ask honest questions, and consider how to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Your role is to guide the conversation with thoughtful questions, attentive listening, and room for others to contribute. Use the 20/80 principle as a guide: speak or guide about 20 percent of the time, allowing group members to contribute the other 80 percent.
The resources below will help you prepare, ask useful follow-up questions, encourage participation, and guide your group toward a practical next step.
