About the Group

If you suffer from addiction and are looking for a safe place where you can come be 100% transparent, a place you can be vulnerable with no judgment to be around other people who understand what you're going through we would love the chance to help. We're not subject matter experts but we can share how through Jesus we have been able to break the chains of addiction for us.

About the Leaders

Josh

I am a Dad/Husband and Fisherman. I grew up a fan of Jesus for many years. I fit Jesus in around happy hours. For many years I felt God pushing me to quit drinking. I ignored it, I made excuses, I justified it. Early 2023 I felt an overwhelming need to quit, 2 months later I would have to shut down a business I started, and I went through a storm that I don't think I would have been able to make it through had I not quit drinking. For the first time in my life, I moved away from being a fan to a follower of Jesus. I am still in the storm but have an overwhelming peace. I live to serve others; I want to help as many people as I can break the chains of addiction. To move from being a fan to a follower.

Brooke

I am a Mom/Mommy and lately to my teenage daughter (Bruh):) I have suffered from addiction most of my teenage and adult life. Starting with alcohol, to drugs (which landed me in York State Penitentiary for a period) to back to alcohol. Over a year ago my Husband and I decided enough was enough. We were tired and worn out of just being so hypocritical. We only brought Jesus from time to time. We made a change we surrendered fully, it's hard to put into words the changes that have come from it. We're not experts, we don't hold degrees. But we’re real, we understand the struggles you're going through and want to help.

What happens next if I join the group?

Once you register for the group (by clicking the “Join Group” button below), you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that we received your registration. In the next couple of days, your new group leader will reach out with some preliminary details about the location, time, and first group meeting.

At the first group meeting you’ll get to know others in your group and hear more about what to expect moving forward. If you decide the group is a good fit for you, great! If not, you can discretely let the group leader know and we’ll help you find a different group.

After a few months of being in the group you’ll have the opportunity to reevaluate if the group is a good fit for you and either continue with the group or step out of the group if desired. So by joining a group, you’re not making a long-term commitment.

If you have any questions, email us at groups@relevantcommunity.org.
