About the Group
The group will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings for snacks, fellowship, and spiritual growth. We will be using the RightNow Media app, sermon questions, and whatever else God puts on our hearts as a group to grow in our relationships with Him and each other.
About the Leaders
David: I am a husband, father, and grandfather and have been with Relevant for 6 years. I am a group leader for Volunteer Staff Orientation and a co-leader of men's small group. Georgie, my wife of 35 years, and I will be leading this group together. I am a huge hockey fan and also played for a number of years. I grew up going to church but didn't understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus until my late 20s. After 30+ years of attending the same church, I felt God calling me to step out of my comfort zone and find a church family that would help me grow and strengthen my relationship with Jesus. I was invited by a friend to check out Relevant in 2016. After completing Volunteer Staff Orientation in Sept of 2017, I made the decision to get baptized to publicly declare to my new church family that I was ready to re-dedicate my life to Jesus and to them, by serving and loving them, and by always striving to be all that God has created me to be.
Georgie: I am a wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 17. We are blessed to have all of our children residing in the Omaha area and love spending time with them. I also enjoy reading, walking, and learning to follow Christ better. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and leader of my life when I was 21 years old. Since then I have been active in my church and on a Pilgrimage journey. I am a member of the Hospitality team and I also lead a women's small group. I am very happy to be attending Relevant and watching my life grow in Christ.
What happens next if I join the group?
Once you register for the group (by clicking the “Join Group” button below), you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that we received your registration. In the next couple of days, your new group leader will reach out with some preliminary details about the location, time, and first group meeting.
At the first group meeting you’ll get to know others in your group and hear more about what to expect moving forward. If you decide the group is a good fit for you, great! If not, you can discretely let the group leader know and we’ll help you find a different group.
After a few months of being in the group you’ll have the opportunity to reevaluate if the group is a good fit for you and either continue with the group or step out of the group if desired. So by joining a group, you’re not making a long-term commitment.
