You want to make a difference. Be Rich makes it simple.

Be Rich is Relevant’s annual movement of generosity, marked by compassion, hope, and love. Through Be Rich since 2019...

3,579 hours

$1,096,076

has been given away
to nonprofit organizations

During Be Rich, we talk about the principles of Giving, Serving, and Loving, and then we take action...

Every dime that is given to the Be Rich Offering on Sunday, November 5 (until midnight) will be then given away in 2024 to our non-profit partner organizations that are making an impact here in our community and on the other side of the world. On this day, we ask 100% of our church to give a financial gift above and beyond your regular giving, and then we give 100% of it away.

We’ll serve and love others during “Serve Day” on Saturday, November 18. We’ll serve people in need in our community and some of our non-profit partner organizations together as a church. This is the biggest serving opportunity of the year for our church! Sign up for a Serve Day project

"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." - 1 Timothy 6:18

What Be Rich Giving Goes To

When you give financially to the Be Rich Offering on November 6, 100% of your giving goes directly to the following causes. Many of these are strategic non-profit partners that we work with to make a greater impact than we could on our own.

Camp Rivercrest

Camp Rivercrest was founded by the Christian & Missionary Alliance in 1958 and serves thousands of children, students, and adults year-round by hosting a variety of camp programs and retreats. Each year, campers make life-changing decisions to put their faith in Jesus and some feel called to serve Christ vocationally. Campers return home with a renewed passion to know Christ and bring hope to a hurting world by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Learn more at camprivercrest.org.

  • 2024 Need: Camp Rivercrest is hoping to complete a chapel renovation in 2024. The Chapel is the main building in which programing occurs during camps.

Church Plant Support

Financially supporting new churches starting in new communities. One of our visions for the next 10 years is to start 10 new churches.

COPE: Christian Outreach Program–Elkhorn

COPE exists to help families stay in their homes and keep food on the table by providing food pantries, groceries, clothing and household goods. They also coordinate education efforts, job assistance and holiday events. COPE is currently serving 455 households in the school districts of Bennington, Elkhorn, DC West and Yutan. Nearly one third of the people benefiting from COPE are under the age of 18 (376 children), 120 of our individuals are over 65. Learn more at copeinfo.org.

  • 2024 Need: In addition to providing for people in need, COPE is committed to help men and women make long-term changes in their lives. In 2024, COPE wants to expand their housing stability program and help people who are at risk for utility shut-off and homelessness.

Crisis Response

In 2018 Karen refugees in North Omaha were evicted from their homes due to unsafe living conditions. In 2019 Nebraska experienced catastrophic flooding. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. We can’t always see the crises on the horizon, but we can be prepared for them. As crisis happens in our community we want to be able to respond and meet needs quickly; to share Jesus love with our words and actions.

Elkhorn School Adoption

As a church that is FOR Elkhorn, we are also FOR Elkhorn schools. Your generosity through Be Rich goes to invest in and support Elkhorn schools and their staff members. We currently have adopted 9 schools in the Elkhorn district.

Fresh Hope

Fresh Hope empowers individuals to live a full, rich, faith-filled life in spite of a mental health diagnosis. Fresh Hope is a peer-to-peer-led, safe, encouraging, and healing environment where real hope and healing take place. 87.5% of people say that prior to participating in Fresh Hope they had been suicidal or had suicidal ideations. 96% of the weekly participants in Fresh Hope attribute their participation in Fresh Hope for the reason that they now feel more hopeful. They are now reaching more than 123,000 people per year worldwide. Learn more at freshhope.us.

  • 2024 Need: Fresh Hope is continuing to reach people all over the world and therefore needs to continue to translate their mental health resources and training into new languages and contexts. They are also seeking to expand their Trauma Healing groups, teen mental health curriculum, and programs for sexually abused women.

Fresh Start for All Nations

Fresh Start exists to see men, women, and young people all over the world forgiven, forgiving, and free from the effects of offense, hurt, and loss. That happens through resource development (printed material, app, website, video stories), Fresh Start processing small groups, seminars, one-on-one relationships. Relevant utilizes Fresh Start’s resources for our Fresh Start classes. Learn more at freshstartforallnations.org.

  • 2024 Need: Fresh Start wants to expand their reach and translation into 9 new countries in 2024. They also hope to hire a new Executive Director and grow their pipeline of leaders who can help others live forgiven, forgiving, and free.

Great Commission Fund

Relevant is affiliated with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). There is a fund through the Alliance, called the Great Commission Fund, that goes to support Alliance missionaries all over the world, especially in “limited access” countries where there is very limited access to the Bible and teachings about Jesus. This fund exists so missionaries don’t have to raise their own financial support. Instead, they’re supported by the local church through this fund. So by giving to this fund, we’re part of supporting missionaries in every country who are sharing the gospel of Jesus all over the world!

Omaha Rapid Response

Omaha Rapid Response provides compassionate relief and humanitarian aid to areas affected by natural and man-made disasters both locally and around the world. They bring hope to the hopeless by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those suffering in the midst of crisis. Learn more at omaharapidresponse.org.

  • 2024 Need: Omaha Rapid Response hopes to continue building houses and shelters and leading PTSD programs in Ukraine for people who have been displaced by war. They also hope to continue revisiting and helping in disaster areas like Maui (fires) and Florida (hurricane).

Outpour

Outpour exists to disciple, train, and empower the youth and young adults of oppressed people groups who transcend the Thailand-Burma border. They are a key partner on the ground in Thailand that Relevant partners with to impact the Karen people. They are transforming the Thai-Burma border by meeting physical needs, providing education and career training, church planting, and more. Learn more at outpourfamily.org.

  • 2024 Need: Outpour wants to continue construction on their children’s home for orphans, refugee children, and abandoned babies on the Thailand-Burma border. This also includes building a multi-purpose center, a security wall, a well and water tower, and agricultural projects on their land for self-sustainability.

Restoring Dignity

Restoring Dignity exists to serve Omaha’s refugee community in four key ways: cleaning, education, housing advocacy, and furniture assistance. We partner with Restoring Dignity to help clean, repair, and improve the living conditions for individual Karen families. Learn more rdomaha.com.

  • 2024 Need: Restoring Dignity continues to work with thousands of new refugees each year. In 2024, they want to hire two full-time educators for Karen refugees to help them transition to and maintain necessary hygiene and organization in their permanent homes.

Safe Haven Orphanage

Safe Haven is located on the Thailand-Burma border and provides Karen refugee children with proper nurture, nutrition, shelter, clothing, medical care, and education. Relevant has financially and physically supported Safe Haven since 2014. Learn more at safehavenorphanage.org.

  • 2024 Need: Continued support for over 50 Karen orphans’ basic needs: food, medicine, housing, clothing, education, and spiritual discipleship. Also, Safe Haven needs to repair the security wall around around the orphanage due to flooding during the raining season. In 2023 we helped them build additional water storage and now they need new water lines to carry the water throughout the orphanage.

S.O.S. Marriage Care

S.O.S. Marriage Care offers spiritual healing for couples wanting help in their marriage. S.O.S. comes alongside couples for a short, intensive period of time with the hope of helping couples identify and resolve issues, learn how to minister to each other at the heart level, and restore intimacy in their marriage. They provide their ministry at no cost to the couples outside of the material used. They also team up with local churches to help them develop a marriage mentoring network and provides resources like “Heart Care”, which we utilize at Relevant. Learn more at sosmarriagecare.com

  • 2024 Need: SOS is hoping to hire another part-time staff member for ministry expansion, to develop a pre-marital counseling resource called “Becoming One”, and to repurpose their existing land into a retreat facility for struggling couples to get away together and go through their Heart Care curriculum away from the distractions of everyday life.

Within Reach

Within Reach is a collaborative network of Omaha leaders in business, education, government and the church who band together to unleash unprecedented compassion on our city, connect people to God, and develop an emerging generation of high-impact leaders. It currently includes more than 37 churches and ministries within the Omaha area. You can learn more at withinreach.com.

  • 2024 Need: Based on last year’s “State of the City” research they did through Barna, Within Reach is focusing on 4 initiatives starting in 2024: mental health care and support, helping churches partner with nearby schools, helping neighborhoods flourish, and developing healthy leaders. This will help churches better serve and reach our surrounding communities.

Youth For Christ (Elkhorn)

Youth for Christ (YFC) exists to give every student between the ages of 11-19 the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ from someone that they know and trust. In the past year, YFC has ministered to over 2,500 different students. In Elkhorn alone, YFC ministers to about 260 students a week between 6 school-based clubs. You can learn more at goyfc.org.
