Double Dog Leaders

Dares will look a little different this year, so here’s what you need to know to help make the night a win!

How the Night Works

  • Students will travel in grade- and gender‑specific groups through the Dare stations. There are 6 total stations, ranging from high‑energy competition to thoughtful, teamwork‑focused dares. Each station is led by a designated Station Leader who will explain the dares, judge the outcomes, and track points.

  • Students will remain at each station until the Station Leader cues the rotation. Stations run for 25 minutes, followed by a 5‑minute transition break to move to the next location.

Your Role as a Leader

  • Your main job is to encourage, coach, and compete alongside your students as they take on each dare. Jump in, have fun, and don’t be afraid to embrace the chaos, this night is better when leaders participate, not just observe!

  • The one small group rotation you will be fed a snack and ask the simple questions down below. The goal is to keep them fed, introduce them to what Rooted small groups are and finally give them opportunity to connect.

Photos & Memories

  • You are encouraged to take photos throughout the night and submit them to the PhotoCircle link below. These photos help us capture memories and promote future events. Unlike previous years, you are not responsible for submitting points or judging(that’s all handled by the Station Leaders).

Scoring & Prizes

  • Scoring will happen throughout the night, but the winners will not be announced until Sunday. Based on feedback from our 8th‑grade student leadership team, final results will be determined after reviewing points and “game film.” Winners will be announced at Rooted on Sunday April 19th. Winners of Double Dog Dare‑A‑Thon will receive a Dairy Chef–sponsored small group and additional prizes. Then every student that joins us wil be entered into the drawing for more invest and invite prizes.

  • Don’t worry—prizes will still be given out Friday night for students who invited friends and for the friends who were brave enough to show up!

Social Media

  • Rooted’s Social Media team will be posting stories on Facebook and Instagram. If you make a post please tag

Dares Stations

Station One: Human Foosball /Warp wall/ Nukem

This station throws teams into Human Foosball, Nuke ’Em, and a timed inflatable obstacle course! Battle 5‑vs‑5 while gripping the poles, survive the high‑pressure Nuke ’Em showdown, then sprint, climb, and bounce your way through the obstacle course as fast as possible. Teamwork, speed, and total focus are the key to winning!

Station 3: 🏀 JOES VS. PROS 🏀

At this station, your students will take on our high school student staff in an epic showdown! Compete head‑to‑head in games like 3v3 basketball, Knockout, and 9‑Square as the underdogs try to take down the pros. Bragging rights, competition, and nonstop energy are on the line!

Station 5: Mechanical Bull/Wrecking Ball/Wack-A-Mole

🤠 HOLD ON TIGHT! 🤠
This station is all about balance, speed, and staying on your feet with the Mechanical Bull, Wrecking Ball Inflatable, and Whack‑A‑Mole! Hang on as long as you can, dodge flying balls, and pop up fast to score points. Strength, reflexes, and grit will decide who survives this wild challenge!

Station Two: 🏗️😆 Spaghetti Tower & Shaving Cream Cheeto Toss

Build the tallest free‑standing tower using spaghetti, marshmallows, and tape—no walls allowed! Then get messy as one teammate covers their face in shaving cream while the rest try to stick as many Cheetos as possible in 3 minutes. Switch catchers and repeat!

Station 4: 🍿 SNACK ATTACK! 🍿

Take a break and refuel at the Snack Station! Grab some tasty treats, hydrate, and recharge before jumping back into the action. Quick bites, good vibes, and energy boosts to keep you going strong all night!

Station 6:✈️🚀 Paper Airplane Airport & Aluminum Foil Spacewalk
Teams will kick things off by building real paper airplanes and launching them toward the airport bucket—no balled‑up paper allowed! Every successful landing counts, so aim carefully. Then it’s time to head to space! Three teammates have 5 minutes to create full astronaut suits using only aluminum foil. Once suited up and blindfolded, they must complete a guided spacewalk across the room, relying entirely on their teammates’ directions. Creativity, accuracy, and communication are the keys to mission success!

Small Group Guides

  • This time is to get to know your students. Keep it light, the goal is to build trust

    1. Have them introduce themselves in some fun way! (What middle school they attend would be helpful)

    2. Favorite animal or if they switch legs with any animal what animal would it be.

    3. How they heard about double dog?

    4. Invite them back to Rooted on Sunday as we finish all the prizes.
