Introduction

The Bible is probably the most misunderstood book in history, yet it has powerfully shaped human history for the past 2,000+ years. For many, the reality is that our approach to this “Good Book” is influenced by our past experiences and issues with the Bible. So, if all of our individual issues are different, how can we know its primary purpose?

Main Point:

The purpose of the Bible is not primarily for our information, but for our transformation.

Discussion Questions

  1. What issues have you or do you have with the Bible?

  2. Describe your own experience with the Bible. How has your past influenced how you approach this book?

  3. Read 2 Timothy 3:15-17. What is the intended purpose of the Bible according to this passage? Do you have a difficult time believing this or does believing come easy to you? Why?

  4. Pastor Ronnie shared a visual breakdown of the different parts of the Bible in the Old and New Testaments. What did you learn? What questions do you have?

  5. What are your issues with the Bible? What would prevent you from addressing those issues with an open heart and mind?
