Leadership Development Program – Youth United Ministry (Grades 9-12)

About the Leadership Development Program

The LDP (Leadership Development Program) is Relevant Community Church’s paid college internship program. The LDP exists to raise up, reproduce and send out great leaders to advance God’s Kingdom through the local church. The LDP is for young men and women (19-25 years of age) who want to be a part of advancing God’s Kingdom through the local church. An LDP Staff is someone who wants to be equipped to influence others in being a part of Jesus’ mission. LDP Staff are not just interns! They are leadership interns!

Position Summary

This LDP Staff will assist the Youth United Ministry Leader in leading the Youth United Ministry and gain practical leadership experience in the local church to grow into a highly effective future church leader.

Responsibilities of every LDP Staff:

  • Assist the Ministry Leader to successfully achieve the Ministry’s Purpose, Measurable Wins, and Strategy

  • Assist the Ministry Leader in developing and managing the Environments, Teams, Systems, and resources for the Ministry

  • Assist the Ministry Leader in apprenticing, engaging, managing, and coaching Team and Small Group Leaders

  • Assist the Ministry Leader in infusing RCC’s D.N.A. into the fabric of the Ministry.

  • Attend Paid Staff Monthly On-site (2nd Thursday of month 9:00am-1:00pm)

  • Leadership Development with LDP Coordinator (Mondays 11:00am-12:00pm)

  • Leadership Development Homework (average of 1 hour per week)

  • Coaching with LDP Coordinator (1 hour per week)

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Youth United (Weekly Environment):

    • Assist the Ministry Leader in planning and evaluating YU (during week)

    • Execute all aspects of Youth United (available from 3-9pm)

    • Lead and execute all aspects of a Youth United environment under the guidance of Ministry Leader twice during the 12-month program

  • Lead a Small Group and apprentice Small Group Leaders

  • Oversee a team

  • Assist in planning and executing YU events: Winter Escape and YU Camp

  • Be at your scheduled Gathering (Sunday morning and Encounter) to represent Youth United – Meet parents, talk to students, create community

  • Help plan and lead Student Staff meetings

  • Execute and manage a System

  • Be involved in executing Summer Blast (Relevant Kids)

Qualifications 

  • Whole-hearted commitment to live out the qualifications of a Deacon (1 Timothy 3:8-13)

  • Alignment with RCC’s mission, vision, values, and strategy (Philosophical Unity)

  • Desire to be a part of leading the local church (whether vocationally or not)
