Impacting a Karen Refugee Family in Omaha
THEIR STORY: Four years ago, a Karen family moved to the United States after spending a decade in a Thailand refugee camp. Upon coming to the United States, the father gained employment in a meat packing factory and the family began saving penny by penny, hoping one day to save enough to buy a home. Four years of saving paid off, and they were able to put down a small down payment on a house! This was a huge relief, as they had been raising their eight kids in a two bedroom apartment for four years. Moving to the house has been a tremendous blessing for the family, but it also has its disadvantages. Home repairs are expensive and the father's income is enough to pay the mortgage and bills, but not much else. Relevant and Restoring Dignity (one of our partners) found out that this family was struggling to obtain household items and house repairs, so we met with them and they welcomed our help with open arms!
OUR PROJECT: Join us on Saturday, October 6 as we serve this Karen family of 10 by providing much-needed household items, cleaning, doing minor home repairs, and teaching them organizational skills. We’ll split the project up into 3 shifts: 10am-12pm, 12-2pm, and 2-4pm. Serve for a two-hour shift and make a huge impact in the life of this family! Register by October 3rd.
Location: Karen family’s home near 67th and Sorenson

A 90-minute event where you can meet people and join a T-Life Group
No matter where we are in life, we all need meaningful friendships; people we have fun with, feel safe with, and make us better. But these relationships can be hard to find. That's why we're so committed to helping you build friendships through a T-Life Group. T-Life (Transformed Life) Groups are smaller, interactive environments designed for everyone, regardless of where you are in life or on your spiritual journey. T-Life Groups are the best environment for college students and adults to continually grow, connect, and impact with others from Relevant.
GROUP LINK is an event where you can connect with others in a similar stage of life with the purpose of forming a NEW T-Life Group. You can also visit our T-Life Groups page to learn more about T-Life Groups and Group Link. The number of available spots at Group Link is dependent on the number of spots available within new T-Life Groups. Registration for Group Link is now closed. Registration for the next Group Link will open in January. If you have questions, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sermon Series Starting Sunday, September 9
Love can be a buzz word in today’s culture. But we all know that actions speak louder than words. Jesus spent a lot of time explaining what loving each other looks like, and then he demonstrated it with His actions. Because of that, He could say with authority “Love one another the way I have first loved you” (John 13). Throughout the New Testament, The writers of Scripture broke down in clear terms what it means to love each other as Jesus first loves us. In a new 8-part series, we’ll dig into how we can apply these different “one another” teachings and learn how to love others intentionally.

If you have questions, contact Cory Nelson at email@example.com.
