Introduction

Choosing a better family with the ones you already have is attainable, but it requires that you make intentional choices. Every family experiences conflict but not every family chooses to reconcile with one another. What would it look like if you made a commitment to radically reconcile with your family today?

Main Point: Do whatever it takes to talk not walk TODAY.

Discussion Questions

  1. How do you typically respond to conflict? Why?

  2. Why do you think it is important to God that we reconcile with one another? How does reconciliation affect our worship? (Matthew 5:23-24)

  3. Read Colossians 1:21-22 aloud. Share what your life was like before Jesus, when you were once far away from God. Share how He has transformed your life. If you are not yet a follower of Christ, share your thoughts on this passage.

  4. On Sunday, Pastor John said, “When it comes to reconciliation, God went first.” How does knowing that God went first encourage you to reconcile today? Who do you need to reconcile with by going first?

  5. With whom do you need to “talk not walk” today?

Taking A Next Step Together

This week, sit down with your family or member from your family and talk face to face about pursuing reconciliation together. Where forgiveness is needed, choose to radically reconcile and move forward. Commit to talk, not walk. Ask the Lord to help you and give you courage to do so.
